Bono East Regional Minister tasks MMDAs to improve work output

By Jerry Azanduna

Techiman, (Bono East), May 28, GNA- Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, the Bono East Regional Minister, has tasked the 11 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the region to improve their work output, and contribute to the government’s reset agenda.

He directed the MDAs to deepen the decentralisation concept and offer the people the opportunity to contribute to decision making to build better communities.

The Regional Minister gave the directive when addressing the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council (RCC)’s ‘Agenda for Dissemination of the 2025 first Quarter Monitoring findings’ meeting at Techiman.

Mr Antwi said it was the responsibility of the MMDAs to improve the livelihoods of the people and develop the local communities through active engagement with the people in the decision making process.

He asked the Assemblies  to explore innovations to increase revenue mobilization.

He said: “With your commitment and dedication the government reset agenda can be achieved”, and urged the MMDAs to also work hard to achieve set targets for their Medium-Term Development Plans.

Mr Antwi said achieving the Medium-Term Development Plan would tackle the immediate and emerging needs of the local communities and alleviate the challenges of residents.

Mr Isaac Mwangu, the Bono East Regional Planning Officer, urged the MMDAs to prioritise the development of the region, worrying that the findings showed that many of the MMDAs did not perform well.
