Assaulted farmer appeals to IGP for justice

Kintampo, (Bono East) May 20, GNA – Mr David Banchgla a farmer in the Kintampo Municipality in the Bono East Region has appealed for the intervention of the Inspector General of Police to serve him justice.

He alleged that a group of people, including a police officer, stationed at the Kintampo Police station allegedly stormed his house and demanded the whereabouts of a lady.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kintampo, Mr Banchgla said when he denied knowing the said lady, the group subjected him to severe beatings, forcibly broke into his room and stole an amount to GHC4,000.

He said the incident happened two weeks ago, adding that he lodged a complaint at the Kintampo Police station, however nothing had been done.

“The same police officer who accompanied the group is handling the matter”, he stated, and called for the intervention of the IGP for justice to prevail.
