Akatsi (VR), May 02, GNA – Mr Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament for Akatsi South and First Deputy Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, has given the green light for the commencement of two three-unit school blocks in his Constituency.
When completed, the facilities, located at Alorkpa and Glikpome, communities within Akatsi South, would enhance the fight for quality education in the area.
Mr Ahiafor, in a short message during the event, assured his constituents of his commitment to the development of the area.
He further instructed the contractor in charge of an electrification project in the communities to return to the site and resume work without delay.
Mr Daniel Dagba, the Municipal Chief Executive for the area, who also joined Mr Ahiafor during the event, notified the communities to adopt the culture of maintenance of the facilities.
The ceremony brought together chiefs, elders, community members, and education actors including Mr Karim Ayaana Umar, the Akatsi South Municipal Director of Education.
Some individuals the GNA engaged expressed their profound gratitude to the MP and his team for prioritising their educational needs.
They also commended Mr Ahiafor for his continuous support, and they further appealed for assistance to complete the community’s electrification project, which has stalled for some time.
The new classroom blocks, when completed, are expected to improve teaching and learning conditions in the respective communities aimed at easing the burden of overcrowded classrooms and enhancing academic performance.
The ceremony also marked another milestone in the MP’s ongoing efforts to boost infrastructure and social amenities in Akatsi South.
