Reconciliation with God is the essence of Easter-Theologian

Sunyani, (Bono), April 20, GNA – Mr Raphael Godlove Ahenu, the leader of the Twelve Stones International, has urged Christian to use the festive season to reconcile and strengthen their relationship with God, instead of merry making.

The Twelve Stones International is a religious movement that engages in community outreaches, inspiring Christians to actively engage in alms giving, kindness, volunteerism, and community service.

As a solemn moment to reflect on the Christian faith and spirituality, Mr Ahenu said it was unfortunate that Easter “has been overshadowed by consumerism, increasingly becoming a festive season for shopping, lavish meals, and entertainment.”

He said Easter was an occasion for Christians and backsliders alike to reflect and align their personal and communal values with the foundational principles of Christendom.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Mr Ahenu said “Easter is the cornerstone of our faith, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope of eternal life.”

“So, we must therefore not allow the true meaning of Easter to fade and be diluted with worldliness,” he stated, urging Christians to live exemplary lives by demonstrating the power of reconciliation and renewal, as they celebrated the festive season.

He said the celebration also offered an opportunity for “healing and forgiveness,” and asked Ghanaians to use the occasion “to reset their hearts and minds, striving to reconcile and build bridges of understanding and compassion.

“By prioritizing spiritual reflection and reconciliation, Christians can honour the profound legacy of Easter and play a vital role in the nation’s journey towards a brighter future,” he stated.
