Police arrest man over theft of EPA car

Accra, April 24, GNA – The Police has arrested a suspect for allegedly stealing a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GS 1845-23, owned by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at Tarkwa in the Western Region.    

The suspect, Salifu Gariba, was apprehended by officers of the Northern Regional Police Command on April 16, 2025, at Kukobila, along the Tamale-Bolgatanga highway, and the stolen vehicle was recovered.    

A statement from the Public Affairs Directorate, shared with the Ghana News Agency, reported that initial investigations revealed the vehicle was taken on April 15, 2025, from an EPA employee’s residence in Budo City, Tarkwa.  

The statement noted that Gariba was still in police custody and would undergo the necessary legal proceedings.
