Odoben (C/R), April 22, GNA- The General Overseer of the Promise Word Church International (PWCI), Apostle Paul Kweku Addea Jnr, has said that Ghana’s democratic governance needed a third force political party to roll out fresh policies and programmes that would transform socio-economic advancement of the country.
The General Overseer observed that Ghanaians were still grappling with bribery, corruption, joblessness and the galamsey menace, after more than two decades of democratic governance under the two main political parties; the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Apostle Addea made the call on the sidelines of a four-day National Easter Convention of the church at Odoben in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region.
The General Overseer said Ghana had not found any concrete antidote to its economic doldrums since 1992, adding that, the two main political parties; have ruled the country back and forth till now, but nothing substantial had changed to find lasting solution to redeem the country from its economic hardship.
‘There has not been a significant economic and social impact on the lives of the people in the areas of health, education, roads, job creation, and provision of other social amenities to better the lot of the people” because the two major political parties have not changed for the better, preaching virtue and practicing vice, he stated.
Apostle Addea said the youth of the country, particularly, graduates were struggling with jobs and other social issues, adding that governments under this democratic dispensation were yet to find a concrete solution to that problem and called on Ghanaians to consider a third force.
On Easter, he indicated that it was a new beginning to start new life with Christ Jesus who was crucified, rose, and was interceding on behalf of mankind.
He urged the youth to surrender all to Jesus Christ who was hanged on the cross because of the transgressions, iniquities, and sins of man to help transform their lives.
They should also believe in themselves while they pursued their education aggressively to help them become responsible adults.
Elder Daniel Adu, the Presiding Elder of Agona Swedru District of the Church, urged Christians to uphold the teachings of the Bible and abstain from immorality, corruption and other promiscuous lifestyles that dent the image of Christ and the Church.
Elder Adu added his voice to the clarion call on the youth to stop indulging in drugs to avoid future repercussions on their lives.
He called on Ghanaians to endeavour to vote for strong third political party to rule the country with fresh ideas.
Pastor Solomon Dukpor, the General Secretary of the Church said the church was not only winning souls for Christ Jesus but was also discharging its social responsibility to free people from poverty.
An orphanage it has at Odupong Ofankor has 65 orphans being taken care of by the management of the Church.
The General Secretary said the Church has also established an educational complex at the headquarters at Odupong Ofankor to offer quality education to the children in and around the area.
