Ayakomaso, (Bono) April 20, GNA-More than 70 new converts were baptised into the Christian faith, as the Youth Ministry of the Deeper Life Bible Church climax its five-day Easter Retreat.
The retreat held at Ayakomaso in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region saw young boys and girls between 13 and 15 years admitted into the youth ministry of the church as new converts after they had graduated from the Children Ministry of the church.
They went through sound biblical teachings and doctrines to build their hope and confidence in Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of the Christian faith.
Pastor Robert Lugushie, the Bono Regional Coordinator of the Deeper Life Bible Church led some local Pastors, including Pastors Charles Ollu and Francis Kodom of the New-Dormaa and Agozo locations of the church respectively to baptise the new converts.
Earlier in a sermon, Pastor Lugushie told hundreds of young people gathered at the campgrounds to celebrate the Easter festivity that “the blood of Jesus Christ shared on Calvary is still potent to save them from their sins”.
He explained “no true Christian will ever be regretted here and hereafter” and asked the young people to only maintain their faith in Christ and remain patient for the excellent plans of God to be fulfilled in their lives.
“True blessings, good success and prosperity is only found in God,” Pastor Lugushie stated, and urged the new converts to be persevere, be wary of temptations and persecutions in their newfound faith.
He said persecutions from the world were only machinations of the devil to sway them away from the newfound faith, saying “sometimes God allows that to happen to build and strengthen your faith in Him”.
Pastor Lugushie inspired the new converts to read their bibles and pray always to overcome temptations and persecutions from the devil and his cohorts and stay solid in Christ that would guarantee them earthly comforts and heavenly rewards.
