Dambai(O/R), April 9, GNA – Dambai College of Education (DACE) has hosted a three-day orientation programme for its 2024/2025 batch of fresher students.
The event aimed to immerse new students in academic expectations, campus life, and essential support services, ensuring they are well-equipped for their academic journey.
The Principal of the College, Dr. Mrs. Benedicta Awusi Atiku, officially opened the event, emphasising the importance of teacher education and dispelling common misconceptions about the profession.
Attendees received an overview of the orientation schedule, and Heads of Department introduced members of their respective faculties.
A historical presentation highlighted the College’s rich heritage, and insights were provided into the Bachelor of Education programme and course selection.

The second day focused on familiarizing students with campus regulations and support mechanisms.
The session discussed comprehensive guidance on counseling services, good management of school property, and detailed hall regulations.
Faculty and Hall Administrators stressed the importance of safeguarding College Assets and adhering to financial protocols.
Student welfare was also prioritized, with discussions on dining schedules, meal quality, and the benefits of regular physical activity.
The College Chaplain clarified the official recognition of Christianity and Islam at DACE, and a Question-and-Answer session allowed students to address their queries on faith and religious participation.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service provided crucial fire safety training guidance, and the Krachi East Municipal Crime Officer shared local crime statistics and practical tips on personal safety.
The comprehensive orientation programme has not only familiarized the freshers with academic and administrative procedures but also instilled a strong sense of discipline, responsibility, and community spirit.
Students received an overview of the Bachelor of Education programme and course selection, familiarized with campus regulations, support mechanisms and students’ welfare.
Again, students received training on fire safety, personal safety, health initiatives and official recognition of Christianity and Islam at DACE.
