Tema, March 16, GNA – Pastor David Adansi of the Hohoe branch of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has called for revival in the Christian community to impact the world.
This, he said would ensure that believers were kept on fire for the second coming of Christ.
He appealed to backslidden Christians to repent of their sins and turn to God for forgiveness and restoration.
Pastor Adansi made the appeal in his homily at the Climax of the week-long Revival of Maranatha Assembly of GCCI in Tema on the theme “Oh God revive us again”.
The event sought to bring revival to the Church, especially the Youth Ministry, to rekindle their zeal in serving the Lord.
Pastor Adansi said spiritual revival comes through the power of the Holy Spirit; saying, “we cannot see revival outside the Holy Spirit”.
He reiterated that Christian revival brings about spiritual awakening and renewed devotion towards God.
He warned that demons, the world, and pleasures of this life were hindrance to revival in the Christian faith.
He said the love of money and material things had led to many Christians backsliding in the faith.
Touching on overcoming these things, Pastor Adansi advised Christians to make Christ their ultimate goal in life.
He urged them to develop interest in the things of God, like evangelism and missions.
He asked Christians to listen to Christian music and watch godly movies; saying replace the negative desires with positive desires.
With regards to spiritual growth, Pastor Adansi advocated for regular daily quiet time, constant Bible study and mastery, regular fellowship, prayer and fasting, evangelism and discipleship.
He also encouraged Christians to identify their spiritual gifts and callings on Christ and pursue them.
He reiterated that the mark of Christian maturity was having godly character; declaring that “God is moved by your integrity, God is moved by your holiness”.
Pastor Adansi urged Christians to keep bearing their own cross in Christ and to allow the Holy Spirit to led them in all their endeavours.
