Kadjebi (O/R), Mar 18-GNA-Residents of Martin Kordzi, Cocoa Market, Asato, Tadzewu Kpodzi, Post Office, and Lorry Station, suburbs of Kadjebi, have no water flowing through their taps for three weeks.
Residents resort to using unhygienic sources due to the absence of this essential commodity.
When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) contacted Mr Mawuli Agbeve, an Electrical Operator with the Kadjebi Water Company Limited, he said the persistent and unstable electricity supply was the cause of the problem.
He mentioned that they normally pump water at night, but now the power supply is unstable, making it difficult for them to pump water.
Mr Agbeve told GNA that there are plans to acquire their own plant for use in pumping water to the reservoirs and assured residents of better days ahead.
Ms Justine Amegatse, a Cocoa Market resident, told GNA that the absence of water is a problem, as she has to depend on borehole water for domestic use.
She said sometimes she could not get access to water because of number of people at the borehole site wanting to fetch water for use.
Miss Esianyo Normesi, Tadzewu Kpodzi student resident told GNA that she traverses long distances looking for water, which makes her get to school late.
The residents appealed to the Kadjebi District Assembly to assist the Kadjebi Water Management Board to acquire a new plant for stable water supply in the town.
