Accra, Mar. 12, GNA – The Empowering Better Life Foundation (EBLF), a nongovernmental organisation committed to supporting mental health advocacy, special learning needs, and ethical leadership development has clarified a misleading incident that occurred during its launch on Wednesday, 5th March 2025

A statement signed by the communication team of EBLF and copied to the Ghana News Agency said during the fundraising session at the event, an individual from the audience picked up a pledge card and announced a pledge of GHS 1,000,000, allegedly on behalf of Aliko Dangote, the renowned Nigerian entrepreneur.

However, upon post-event evaluation, it was discovered that this pledge was made without Mr. Dangote’s explicit consent, despite an official invitation being extended to him.

“We categorically state that this pledge was false and misled the public, and we sincerely regret any confusion or misunderstanding this may have caused. EBLF upholds the highest standards of transparency and integrity, and we take this matter seriously,” it said.

The statement said the Foundation still required financial support to carry out its programmes, and encouraged well-wishers, corporate organizations, and the public to continue supporting EBLF’s cause through verified and official donation channels.
