Tuobodom, (Bono East), Mar. 11, GNA – The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) on Tuesday urged parents to instil nationalistic values and principles into the minds of their children.
Mr Mohammed Manu Busi, the Techiman North Municipal Director of the NCCE who gave the advice, said children ought to be taught the love for nation to help preserve the constitution and to consolidate the gains of the nation’s democracy.
He indicated that the commission was focused on promoting constitutionalism, and to ensure that children were enlightened and understood the 1992 Constitution so that they would grow with a sense of patriotism and ideals of democracy.
Mr Busi said knowing and understanding the 1992 Constitution would enable the children to grow, cherish, uphold and defend the constitution.
He lauded the competition saying it would enable the children to accept the constitution as the supreme law of the nation.
Six Basic Schools participated in the competition which centered on the 1992 Constitution and the pre-colonial era.
