Ehi (V/R), March 18, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr Eric Edem Agbana, has announced that two major highways and two feeder roads within the constituency have been approved for reconstruction, with work expected to commence this year.

Speaking at his first Quarterly Accountability Series and Press Briefing in Ehi, Mr Agbana emphasized that these road projects are a major step toward improving connectivity and infrastructure in the area.

Highways are: Ho-Tokor Road through Dzodze – This will include a Dzodze bypass as part of plans to convert the road into a dual carriageway, Ave-Xevi-Weta-Anlo Afiadenyigba-Havedzi Road – A critical road linking multiple communities in the constituency. Feeder Roads are: Tsiyinu-Afife Health Centre Road, Ehi-Dzodze Road

Mr Agbana revealed that over the weekend, the Minister for Roads and Highways, his deputy, and technical staff from the ministry visited the constituency to inspect and assess the road networks in preparation for the projects.

He noted that the Ho-Tokor Road will be constructed under the President’s “Big Push Agenda” and is expected to be completed within two years (2027).

Meanwhile, the Weta-Havedzi Road will be fully funded by the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

The MP also provided updates on the Penyi-Ehi feeder road, which had begun under the previous administration but remained incomplete.

He assured the people that the project would be revisited and completed to enhance accessibility in the area.

During the briefing, community members from Ehi expressed their gratitude for the planned road projects but urged the MP to advocate for the inclusion of the Ehi-Agbozume Road, which also requires urgent attention.

In response, Mr. Agbana acknowledged that the Ehi-Agbozume Road had previously been awarded for construction but noted that his team had been unable to locate the contract documents to follow up with the contractor.

However, in a surprising turn, an Assembly Member from Ehi present at the briefing quickly provided a copy of the contract documents.

The MP immediately pledged to pursue the contractor and ensure that work on the Ehi-Agbozume Road resumes as soon as possible.

The announcement was met with enthusiastic applause from the people of Ketu North, who commended the MP for his proactive approach to addressing the region’s infrastructural challenges.

They further urged him to continue advocating for more developmental projects and to ensure strict monitoring of the road constructions to guarantee quality and timely completion.

Mr. Agbana assured them of his unwavering commitment to improving road networks, boosting economic activities, and enhancing the overall well-being of the people of Ketu North.
