Hohoe (V/R), March 6, GNA – The 68th Ghana’s Independence anniversary has been marked in Hohoe with a gathering of security officers, traditional and religious leaders, teachers, learners and the public.
It was marked on the theme: “Reflect, Review and Reset.”
The event was marked at the forecourt of the Hohoe Municipal Assembly, departing from the annual traditional event of march past.
Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Hohoe Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), urged all to take a moment to reflect, review and reset as individuals, community, institution and constituency.
He said as the Constituency reflected on the nation’s history, constituents must renew their commitment to national development and work together to build a stronger, more prosperous Hohoe and Ghana as a whole.
Mr Tsekpo said as an MP, he would continue to advocate in Parliament and push for the progress of all constituents.
He said he was ready to tackle problems facing the Constituency ranging from bad shape of roads, shortage of potable drinking water, high number of unemployed youth and unstable electricity destroying gadgets daily.

Mr Tsekpo bemoaned the many abandoned school projects, which left students in unconducive learning environments.
He said he recognised the serious concerns regarding student performance in the recent BECE, adding that the 40 per cent pass rate was not good enough and must be improved.
He said he would support teachers, especially those in deprived areas to ensure better teaching and learning conditions.
Mr Tsekpo said he would empower the Municipal Education Directorate with the necessary resources to enhance education delivery.
He said he would also ensure that students had a conducive learning environment, including improved school infrastructure and access to essential learning materials.
There was cultural display, poetry recitals and presentation of best Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) student awards.
Master Theophilus Setiam Dufe, 15-year-old former leaner of Great Winners School Complex, Gbi Kledzo and current student of Achimota Senior High School received the best BECE award for 2024.
He will also receive a full scholarship to complete his second-cycle education as well as tertiary education from the Member of Parliament.
