Over 350 residents of Detsekorpe and other communities such as Fantevikorpe, Asigbekorpe, Afiadenyigba, and Nuhalenya benefitted from the exercise, which was supported by medical professionals from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital.

The initiative at the chief’s palace was aimed at promoting good health within the community, providing them with free medical check-ups and consultations.

He emphasised the importance of regular health check-ups and pledged to continue advocating for better healthcare access in the community.

“This is going to be an annual programme, but when the need arises, we will do it more than once a year,” he told the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

The team provided dental and eyesight services to the beneficiaries, checked their blood pressure, and tested for blood sugar levels for early detection of diabetes and other health issues.

Residents also received free toothbrushes and toothpaste and medicines, while others were referred to various hospitals and specialists for further checks.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, calling it a life-saving opportunity, especially for those who struggle to afford medical care.
