Concerned Mothers Movement interacts with Western Regional Minister

Takoradi, March 18, GNA – The Leadership of the Concerned Mothers Movement, a non-profit organization focused on women and girls’ upliftment has visited Mr Joseph Nelson, the Western Region

The visit was also used to congratulate the Minister on his appointment as well as discuss areas the two institutions could work together to promote the course of women and girls in the Region.

Mr Joseph Nelson, the Regional Minister who was obviously enthused about the visit, described the mothers as “women of substance “with capacity and abilities to make the needed changes in the society.

He said, “what you are doing in our communities is not different from what I am charged to do as a Regional Minister…we are all seeking the improvement and positive impact in the lives of the citizenry and thus human development of the Region at large “.

The Western Regional Minister therefore encouraged the Mothers to keep up the good works to be more profitable to the society.

He stated that his position as a Regional Minister could only be profitable to human if he served” I have welcomed many groups since I assumed office and I am happy to note the willingness and support from all of you to ensure that I served “.

Mrs. Josephine Amo-Yankson, the Executive Director of the Organisation mentioned that over the last seven years, the organisation had been involved in many notable activities including prayer festivals for elections and campaigning for the return of the Takoradi kidnapped girls.

The organisation also organises outreach in schools and communities, settlement of social dispute and training and awareness creation on topical social issues.
