Accra, Feb. 27, GNA – The 1975-year group of the Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon (Presec Odadee 75) has launched its 50th Anniversary activities at the school’s premises.

The activities, to be held from February to November, this year, include a health walk and screening, family fun day with games, an anniversary thanksgiving service, and launch of an Endowment Fund for their alma mater.

There will also be a pilgrimage to Krobo Odumase to visit the school’s former site, planting of Baobab trees at the Legon Campus, and visits to ailing colleagues.

The climax of the activities will be a Health Walk and Screening on Friday, October 31; a Family Fun Day with games on Saturday, November 01, and an Anniversary Thanksgiving Service and launch of an Endowment Fund for their alma mater on Sunday, November 02.

Mr Alex Yayra Fiagome, President of the Group, said the 75-year group was the third batch of students enrolled at the Legon campus after the school moved from its “ancestral home at Odumase-Krobo in 1968.

Out of the 155 that graduated in 1975, 94 were captured as alive and 29 had passed on, with 22 untraceable.

“There was something unique about Presec in those days. The school was new and neat with well-manicured lawns and paved walkways all over campus,” Mr Fiagome said.

“This left a welcoming and calming effect on us. Beyond the welcome, however, was the rigorous Presbyterian discipline at play.”

He urged his colleagues to fully participate in the anniversary celebrations planned for the year.

“Our twilight years call for stronger bonds and fellowship, so let the memories and smiles shared during this anniversary year remain with us for as long as we live,” he added.
