Tamale, Feb 18, GNA – Members of the Local Accountability Networks (LANets) in the Tamale Metropolis, have undergone a day’s training to enhance their capacities to monitor implementation of recommendations from the Auditor General’s Report at the local level.
As part of the training held in Tamale, participants were taken through some of the digital platforms to identify the Auditor General’s Report on every district in each region and how they could pursue recommendations from the reports.
The training formed part of the implementation of the third phase of a two-year project, which began in November 2024 and expected to end in October 2026.
The project, dubbed “Building Evidence for Increased Accountability in Ghana through a Multi-Stakeholder Accountability Initiative” is being implemented by the Ghana Anti – Corruption Coalition (GACC), in partnership with RUWA Ghana, a Civil Society Organization in Tamale and funded by Hewlett Foundation.

As part of the project, GACC and partners through LANets, would effectively monitor the implementation of recommendations from the Auditor General’s Report on audited accounts in the utilization of the Assemblies Common Fund, follow up on the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan and engage citizens on issues of corruption and how it retards national development.
Mr Samuel Harrison Cudjoe, Programmes Officer at GACC, who facilitated the training, gave the details of the project, and said it would help strengthen public fiscal management systems for efficient spending and lead to reduction in leakages of public funds.
