Accra, Feb 18, GNA – Mr Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, on Tuesday announced that former Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta, is expected to return to Ghana in May 2025, following a medical assessment abroad.

According to Mr Afenyo-Markin, Mr Ofori-Atta’s legal representatives had confirmed his scheduled return, stating, “Mr Speaker, our client… cannot be back any time before six to eight weeks of his possible surgical intervention… He should be able to be back into the jurisdiction between May 14 and 30, 2025,” he said on the Floor of Parliament.

Mr Ofori-Atta’s return is in relation to an ongoing investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) into alleged corruption-related offenses.

The OSP on Monday February 17 declared Mr Ofori-Atta wanted and urged the public to provide information on his whereabouts.

Mr Afenyo-Markin assured that Mr Ofori-Atta is prepared to appear for an in-person interrogation upon his arrival.
