Sunyani-Penkwasi (Bono), Feb. 4, GNA – Fire has razed a compound house at Penkwasi, a suburb of Sunyani, causing extensive damages to properties and personal belongings running into thousands of Ghana cedis.
Though no casualty was reported, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) learnt that more than 15 rooms were affected, with most of the victims currently perching with relatives and friends.
The Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One (ADOI) Kwame Adomako, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the incident happened around 1145 hours Monday February 3, 2025.
When personnel of the service got to the scene, the fire had reached dangerous dimensions, he stated, saying its cause remained unknown for now. ADOI Adomako advised everybody to endeavour to switch off home appliances before leaving home for work and sympathised with the victims.
