Berekum, (Bono), Feb. 10, GNA – Mr Kwaku Rooney, the Assembly member of the Amangoase Electoral Area in the Berekum Municipality of the Bono Region, has expressed concern about the discovery of lifeless bodies in the Municipality.

He said four lifeless bodies had been discovered in the Municipality in February 2025 alone, urging the police to work hard to unravel the mysteries surrounding the deaths.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Berekum, Mr Rooney said the situation was becoming alarming, saying “we just discovered another lifeless body this weekend adding up to four bodies.”

“The male lifeless body believed to be within his 30s was found with sticks and stones, suggesting that the deceased was lynched,” he stated.

However, some of the residents at Berekum Amangoase told the GNA during a visit to the scene that they suspected the deceased was a thief, while others confirmed that he was a lunatic “who often chased and attacked unsuspecting women and girls with sticks”.

When contacted, a police source told the GNA investigations were on-going and urged the residents to remain calm.

The police had since retrieved and deposited the body at a mortuary.
