Anloga, (V/R), Jan. 06, GNA – Dr David Yao Normanyo, a Security Expert, has urged residents of the Anloga and Keta Municipality to prioritise their personal safety and security of their properties, following the spate of robberies and killings in the area.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Dr Normanyo emphasised the importance of proactive measures to safeguard lives and property.

He said the victims of these crimes were often inadvertently exposed to such criminal activities due to insufficient precautions.

“For every crime to be committed, there is always an instance of exposure from the victims, who might have either revealed their property to potential robbers or failed to take adequate precautions,” he noted.

He advised residents to invest time and effort in protecting their assets and themselves.

“One must go the extra mile to secure their wealth, just as they worked hard to acquire it. Investigations into many crimes reveal that victims often do not do enough to shield themselves or their property,” he said.

Dr Normanyo, who is also the Assembly member for the Dzita Electoral Area and a member of the Justice and Security Committee in the Anloga District, called for a collective effort to combat crime in the area.

He urged all stakeholders, including traditional authorities, to play an active role in supporting security efforts.

Again, as the Volta Regional Executive Secretary of the National Peace Council, Dr Normanyo commended the Ghana Police Service for their crime-fighting efforts in the area.

He encouraged them to increase their visibility, particularly on roads and in community hotspots where criminal activities were more likely to occur and called on the Government to adequately support the security services with the necessary logistical support to fight crime.

Dr Normanyo’s call for action highlights the need for collaboration between residents, traditional leaders, and security agencies to ensure peace and safety in Anloga District and Keta Municipality.
