President Mahama nominates third batch of Ministers

Accra, Jan 21, GNA — President John Dramani Mahama has submitted a third batch of ministerial nominations to Parliament for approval.

The nominations, announced in a statement signed by Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, include individuals selected to serve as Regional Ministers and Ministers of State.

Regional Ministers

The following individuals have been nominated as Regional Ministers:

  • Puozuing Charles Lwanga (Upper West Region)
  • Joseph Addae Akwaboa (Bono Region)
  • Francis Owusu Antwi (Bono East Region)
Ministers of State

The President also nominated the following to head key ministries:

  • Ministry of Defence: Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah
  • Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations: Samuel Nartey George, MP
  • Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources: Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP
  • Ministry of Sports and Recreation: Kofi Iddie Adams, MP
  • Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment: Abdul-Rashid H. Pelpuo, MP
  • Ministry of Health: Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, MP
  • Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology: Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, MP
  • Ministry of Transport: Joseph Bukari Nikpe, MP
  • Ministry of Interior: Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, MP
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP
  • Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources: Adjel Kenneth Gilbert

Additionally, specialised roles were announced:

  • Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives: Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, MP
  • Minister of State, Government Communications: Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP
  • Minister of State, Climate Change and Sustainability: Issifu Seidu, MP

The nominees are expected to undergo parliamentary vetting and approval in the coming weeks.
