Nkwanta: Kyabobo Wildlife Park vehicle attacked by unknown assailants

Dambai (O/R), Jan 19, GNA – A vehicle belonging to the Kyabobo Game Park was attacked at Nkwanta in the Oti Region in a brazen fashion by some unknown assailants that has left the authorities stunned. 

An intel gathered by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) indicated that the attack occurred during the renewed ethnic conflict on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. 

The Manager of the Park (name withheld) attempted to rescue some of his staff but was ambushed by the assailants, who opened gunfire on the vehicle, causing extensive damage. 

Sources close to the GNA revealed that the Manager and one other staff sustained gunshots wounds and were rushed to a health facility for medical attention. They were later discharged. 

The attack on the vehicle has sent shockwaves through the community, with many condemning the senseless act of violence. 

The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the incident and has assured the Management of the Wildlife Park of ensuring that the perpetrators were brought to justice. 

The Akyode, Adele and Challa ethnic groups are claiming ownership of the Nkwanta township leading to the age-long conflict.
