Somanya (E/R), Jan 22, GNA – Dr Albert Tetteh Nyarkotey, the Member of Parliament for Yilo Krobo in the Eastern Region, said he will advocate the modernisation of the Klo-Agogo Market to boost economic activities in the local community.
He said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at the Somanya Royal Hotel during the Yilo Krobo National Democratic Congress (NDC) victory party for the 2024 general election.
Dr Nyarkotey noted that President John Dramani Mahama had promised to give the market a facelift during his campaign tour to the area and assured that he would continue to press for the fulfillment of that promise.
“Since Yilo Krobo is known for producing cassava and mangoes on a large scale, the NDC government, led by John Mahama, intends to build processing facilities for these crops in the municipality, which will greatly contribute to job creation for young people and help reduce the unemployment rate,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating the completion of the 11-kilometer Somanya-Kpong Road, the rehabilitation of the Sikabeng Junction to Klo-Agogo road, and improvements in the Huhunya-Boti road.
