Akatsi (VR), Jan. 25, GNA – Residents of Dagbakorpe, a farming community near Asafotsi in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region, have expressed happiness after a borehole system was commissioned for the community.
The facility, worth GHC67,000.00, was funded by members of ‘DagbaKorpe Youth Association’ living at home and abroad.
Mr Daniel Dagba, a leading member of the Association, disclosed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that they would continue to bring development to the people.
“We funded this ourselves with the help of our relations living at home and abroad. The presence of this facility would bring life back to our people who toiled in search of good drinking water,” he said.
He pledged the members’ commitment towards solving other concerns of the community to ensure its holistic development.

Reverend Father George Selasi Amegashitsi, the Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Tadzewu, who commissioned the borehole, expressed gratitude to all who contributed toward the realisation of the project.
He called for its proper maintenance to keep the system running.
Some community elders and residents told the GNA that “water is life” and expressed gratitude to the Association for the project.
