Voting has been peaceful in Asante-Akim South Constituency

Juaso (Ash), Dec. 7, GNA-Voting has been peaceful in the Asante-Akim South Constituency where a voter population of 76,109 is expected to cast their ballot in the presidential and parliamentary elections. 

 Polls opened at exactly 0700 hours across the 168 polling stations in the constituency.  

 Mrs. Franca Dei Yeboah, the Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission (EC) told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that, her outfit was expecting a smooth process devoid of hitches. 

She said all the election materials were deployed on time to allow adequate time for Presiding Officers and their teams to set up before 0700 hours.  

   The story is not any different in the Juaben Constituency. 

 The exercise has been smooth with no reported incident of violence in the area. The biometric verification machines are also not presenting any glitches. 

 In the Asawase constituency, voting has been going on smoothly amid tight security. 

 At the Malaga polling station in the Asawase constituency, 74 voters out of the registered voter population of 695 had already voted as of 0830 hours.
