Otiakrom-Shallom (E/R), Dec. 02, GNA – Apostle Dr Kadmiel E.H. Agbalenyo, the Founder and Leader of the Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation, has urged parents to avoid the habit of abandoning their children, which he said was a curse.
He appealed to his fellow church leaders to pray fervently against such habit for everlasting harmony and peace among parents and children at home.
Apostle Dr Agbalenyo gave the advice when he spoke with the Ghana News Agency after delivering a sermon on parental rights and responsibilities at home, at Otiakrom-Shallom in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern Region.
He noted that fathers were most offenders of abandoning their homes and left the wives to suffer to bear the responsibilities of the children, stating that, “Verily, only a treacherous husband or wive will abandon the children they have brought into the world.
“Know and understand that there is nothing like ‘single parenthood’ except widowhood which is recognised by the Almighty God and Creator – Exodus 22:23-24.”
Apostle Dr Agbalenyo said, “In fact, the Lord God has always punished those parents that neglect their parental rights and responsibilities, adding, “Truly, any father or mother (parents) who abandon his or her own children don’t know the Creator, God and King of the world.”
He said children were the most blessed humanity, who brings strength and protection to the family if they were religiously, culturally, and skilfully trained to become true and faithful to God (Deu. 6:4-6).
He stated that without theocratic controversy, Isaiah the greatest Messianic Prophet upheld the divinity of children’s world, being offspring of the Almighty God (Malachi 2:14-16).
“Unfortunately, some people have considered children their burden and therefore maltreated them at home,” he observed, saying, “Parents who preferred their children playing outside their homes create a problem of introducing them to unlawful behaviours and attitudes.”
He called on parents to lead their children in undertaking activities such as homework, cleaning, and dressmaking, especially for the females while the males must be introduced to their father’s work like gardening and farming, carpentry, masonry, painting and others.
Apostle Dr Agbalenyo said this would lead to the industrial foundation of the children alongside their academic activities, adding, “The Ark that saved Noah’s household was constructed by themselves – father, mother and children (Gen. 8:13-21).”
“Truly, children who are trained religiously, domestically, and industrially are the economic bulkers of the welfare of the family and the nation builders,” he said.
