Ada Foah, Dec. 31, GNA – Nene Tetteh Kakepeemi I, the Youth Development Chief of the Ada State, has called for peaceful coexistence between community members of Bornikorpe in Ada, following some confrontations over the Songor Lagoon.

Nene Kakepeemi condemned the recent attacks and clashes among the indigenes of Bornikorpe, stating that such acts were detrimental to efforts to foster unity among the people and promoting development.

He expressed concerns about how they would peacefully coexist with each other and the legacy they would leave for their generations if they continued in such a prevailing situation.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Nene Kakepeemi who also doubles as the Ada Constituency Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said it was essential for the youth to recognise their importance to the growth of the Ada State.

He asked them to avoid doing the bidding of persons who do not have their progress and the future of Ada at heart.

He said although the youth had been complaining about unemployment, they kept attacking each other on their businesses and the company operating within the area to provide them with the jobs needed.

“I don’t think that brutalising each other will serve a good pace for our future growth and that of generations to come,” he emphasised.

Nene Kakepeemi made the statement after some community members of Bornikorpe on Monday, December 23, attacked other indigenes over the Songor Lagoon, causing injury to some victims.

He said it was worrying how some people involved themselves in lawless activities and ended up in court, describing it as disheartening considering the risk and money involved in these legal suits, which could be channeled into profitable ventures.

The Chief urged the youth to avoid involving themselves in acts that would pose danger to their future, advised that they should channel their issues to the right authorities for it to be addressed amicably, it would ensure peaceful coexistence instead of resorting to violent acts.
