Man arrested for over double voting

The Police have arrested Kwofie Stephen, a polling station agent, for double voting at the Wassa Akropong Appiahkrom polling station A in the Western Region in the ongoing General Election.

The suspect is currently in custody assisting the Police investigation.


“Traditional authorities ready and willing to accept outcome elections”—Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II

Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area on Saturday expressed traditional authorities’ readiness and willingness to accept the outcome of the elections.

He said they are ready to support candidates who emerge winner of the presidential and parliamentary elections to lead the country to the level Ghanaians desire.

He said security officers particularly the Police have a sacred duty to ensure that there is absolute peace and no violence and tension occured across all the polling stations in the country.

Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II was speaking to reporters after casting his ballot at 0940hours when he arrived at the Queen mother’s Palace Polling Centre 1 in the company of Barimah Oppong Yaw Boabasa, the Gyaasehene of the Dormaa Traditional Area.

Police arrest man at polling station in possession of firearm

The Police have arrested one Michael Allotey, for possessing a weapon at the St. Theresa School polling station in the Okaikwei South Constituency in Accra.

He is currently in custody assisting in the Police investigation.


Police arrest EC official over electoral offences

The Ghana Police Service has arrested an Electoral Commission official at Kintampo South Constituency in the Bono East Region, for electoral offences during the ongoing general election.

The suspect, Dery Joseph, is under investigation for issuing about 15 ballot papers to voters that omitted the first presidential candidate at the Ampesika- Bayere polling station.
