Tuobodom (Bono East), GNA-Jubilant members and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Techiman North constituency of the Bono East Region have expressed confidence in the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
They said they were highly optimistic that the President-Elect John Dramani Mahama’s administration would do more to create opportunities and alleviate the plight of the teeming unemployed youth in the country.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Tubodom, the constituency capital, the ecstatic supporters said were over-joyed about the NDC’s election victory and hoped to see the implementation of the proposed 24-hour economy, and other policies, as touted by the party in the electioneering.
Mr Johnson Adom, one of the celebrants, said, “with the election victory the Techiman North District will equally benefit from the sharing of the national cake,” adding that the district had continuously been neglected by successive New Patriotic Party (NPP) governments.
He said almost all the rural communities in the district, including Amoma, Tenabea, Buoyam and Offuman lacked social facilities and basic infrastructure development, indicating that the deplorable conditions of roads as well as inadequate health and education facilities were having a huge toll on the people.
Madam Ama Serwaa, a petty trader, said she was highly anticipating the implementation of the proposed Women’s Bank economic policy of the NDC, saying “we need the interest free loans to save our businesses.”
