Tumu, (UWR), Dec. 07, GNA – Most of the voting centres visited in the Tumu township witnessed a high turnout in queues waiting to cast their ballot.
Some of them go to their polling stations very early to cast their ballots, defying the cold harmattan winds, so that they can go to their farms.
Mr Baba Alembey told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that he turned up very early, to enable him to go to his farm as harvesting of the produce was still ongoing.
Other people also waited anxiously to cast their ballot so they could return to their workplaces.
Most of the voting centres in the constituency, including Tumu Community Center started the process on schedule and there were party agents of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP) as well as security presence at the Centre.
Mr Nandzo Mumuni Nashiru, the Presiding Officer, told the GNA that a total of 431 were expected to cast their ballot at the Tumu Sectech One polling station.
Mr Anaba Awinbire Philemon, the Sissala East Returning officer, told the GNA that all the election material were dispatched to all the 106 polling stations in the Sissala East on time
