Kpeve (V/R), Dec. 8, GNA – Mr Rockson Nelson Etse Defeamekpor has retained the South Dayi Parliamentary seat for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He polled 16,031, representing 79.5 per cent, to secure the seat, while Mr Godwin Kwame Dadzawa of the New Patriotic Party got 3,853, representing 19.5 per cent.
The two independent candidates, Mr David Awalime and Madam Rose Safo polled 51 and 94, respectively.
Mr Defeamekpor told the Ghana News Agency that the constituency would witness massive socioeconomic transformation under the NDC-led government.
He said the deplorable road networks had been a challenge and would soon be addressed to bring some relief to the people.
He promised to make premix fuel, which is an essential commodity in fishing, would be made available for the fishermen.
Mr Defeamekpor said farmers would also be provided with inputs to expand their farms to earn more income to support their livelihoods.
