Church of Jesus Christ donates to poor, needy in La Nkwantanang District

Accra, Dec. 5, GNA – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has donated some food items to the people of madina in the La Nkwantanang District to mark the love and spread the peace of Jesus Christ.

President Alexander Ansong, First Councilor at Madina, Accra, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, said each year the donation was to radiate the light of Christ to give to the poor and needy in society.

He said the donation was made to various people being it Muslim or Christian, emphasising that the donation was to bring about peace and love among people living in the world.

He said over 400 people were drawn from different communities for the donation, he mentioned that the food items included rice, oil, mackerel and frozen chicken.

Mr Benjamin Beenson, President, Ghana Accra Mission, said the donation was to emulate the work of the saviour Jesus Christ, he said “everyone has a need and therefore we give to those who are not able to afford.”

He said the activity was replicated across the entire Africa West Area of the Church to put a smile on the faces of the least privileged in society.

Beyond the launch, the impact of the Light the World campaign endures, with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints committed to ongoing acts of service and kindness throughout the year.

They extended an invitation for individuals, organizations, and communities to join in spreading love and making a difference in their spheres of influence.

The people of Madina expressed gratitude and appreciation for the kind gesture of the church as the donation was timely for the Christmas celebrations.
