Christians urged to be vessels of hope to others

Kumasi, Dec 27, GNA – Mr. Felix Mustapha Darkwah, a Ministerial Trainee at the Trinity Theological Seminary at Legon, Accra, has urged Christians to be vessels of hope to others.

He said Matthew 5:16 in the Bible encouraged Christians to, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Mr. Darkwah was preaching on Christmas Day Church Service at the Good Shepherd Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Fankyenebra in Kumasi.

The service was on the theme: “Christ the Saviour Is Born,” with Bible references from Isaiah 9:2-7, Titus 2:11-14 and Luke 2:1-20.

Mr. Darkwah said Christmas was celebrated on December 25, annually to remember the first coming of Jesus Christ to save humankind and to keep in mind that the second coming of Him would be to judge humankind.

He emphasised the importance of Christians living righteous life to be saved on the judgment day.

“In our joyful moment in celebrating the birth of Christ, we need to remember that Jesus Christ will come again and this time for judgment.

We should, therefore, remember to live a life worthy of the kingdom of God,” he said.

Mr Darkwah said the birth of Christ, which was prophesized many years ago before its fulfilment, brought humankind hope of eternal salvation.

“The coming of Jesus Christ to the earth was to save everyone and not a sector of people.

It doesn’t matter your status, ethnicity or the part of the world you belong to,” he stated.

Therefore, Christians, must give hope to others by living a god-fearing life to bring unbelievers closer to God.

He said living an exemplary life would give everyone a chance to benefit from the deliverance, salvation, joy, grace, peace and other blessings associated with the coming of Christ to the earth.
