Sozopol, on the Black Sea, Nov 24 (BTA/GNA) – The fourth edition of the O-Salted Fish Festival will be held on December 7 in Sozopol, said the Town Hall Wednesday.
The aim of the festival is to preserve and popularize the tradition of preparing salted fish.
Salted fish is something of an umbrella term that includes various cooking techniques: drying, brining or otherwise curing the fish, and canning.
The festival includes a contest for preparing salted fish where participants will compete in five categories for five techniques. Entrants have to be based in any of Bulgaria’s Black Sea towns to qualify for participation.
The visitors will have the opportunity to taste and buy the prepared fish.
The event is organized by Sozopol Municipality and the Sozopol Rotary Club, and will mark the opening of the Christmas Market in the seaside town.
