MP, MCE inspect progress of work on durbar grounds, artificial football pitch

Abesim, (B/R), Nov. 23, GNA – Mr Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East Constituency, has inspected progress of work on the construction of a 3,500-seater capacity durbar grounds under the government’s one-million dollar per constituency project at Abesim, near Sunyani. 
 
Accompanied by Mr John Ansu Kumi, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive and some executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency, the MP also the Election 2024 Parliamentary Candidate inspected on-going works on an Astro-turf football pitch in the town. 
 
The durbar grounds, being constructed on the Abesim local Presbyterian School Park and expected to be completed and handed over for use, within six months has male and female washrooms, restaurant, conference hall, pavements, and other recreational facilities. 
 
With work on the artificial pitch, the GNA learnt it has additional volleyball and basketball courts, sanitary facilities, fencing, expected to be completed and handed over for use by February 2025. 
 
In an interview with the media, Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh indicated that construction works were also progressing on similar projects in the constituency, saying the FIFA standard Astro-turf pitch being put up at the Sunyani Penkwasi Sakora Park would soon be inaugurated. 
 
He noted that the chiefs and people had remained loyal to the NPP since 1992, and assured that he and Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Election 2024 flagbearer of the party would do more to bring the development of the area to the next level. 
 
“The Bawumia government and myself would ensure that the loyalty of the chiefs and people of Abesim to the NPP would never go unnoticed” and called on the electorates in the constituency to vote for Dr Bawumia and maintained him as their MP on December 7. 

In a related interview, Mr Kumi, the Sunyani MCE expressed appreciation to the MP and Dr Bawumia, saying it was through their efforts that the Abesim community had the two projects. 
 
He reminded the electorates there that the best way they could appreciate Dr Bawumia, and the MP was to vote for them on December 7. 

Mr Kumi said construction work on the Abesim market had also been completed, saying it would be handed over to the community before the close of the year.
