Election 2024: CPP promises “true ownership and prosperity” for citizens

Accra, Nov. 15, GNA – The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has vowed to lead Ghana towards self-reliance, innovation, and true sovereignty if elected in the December 2024 elections.

Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, the party’s flagbearer, who outlined her vision for the country in Accra on Thursday, promised to create equal opportunities for all citizens to thrive under her leadership.

Ms. Sarpong Kumankumah said that the CPP offered a viable alternative to the existing political duopoly in the country.

She stated that, under CPP governance, the party would work to build a society where citizens can live with dignity and prosperity.

Presenting the party’s manifesto, which she described as the “Women’s Manifesto,” Ms Sarpong Kumankumah highlighted policies she thought would drive the country’s transition from dependency to dominance.

She the document presented a blueprint for industrial rebirth, where every Ghanaian would have the opportunity to own a stake in the nation’s wealth.

“Our timing may be close to the elections, but it’s not about being early or late—it’s about presenting a vision with clarity, focus, and strength.

“This manifesto is more than words; it is a promise to every Ghanaian that, together, we can build a nation worthy of its name, its people, and its heritage,” she said.

CPP named initiatives such as “AgroSure,” “GhanaBa Shares”, women empowerment, and others intended to boost economic and social development.

“Under ‘GhanaBa Shares’, every Ghanaian will have access to shares in national industries. No longer will wealth flow out of our borders or into the hands of a few.

“We will build industrial and technology hubs across the nation, ensuring that our young people have the skills to create, innovate, and lead in every sector, from manufacturing to information technology.

“With an investment in infrastructure and resources, we are positioning Ghana to become a production powerhouse in Africa,” the flagbearer stated.

“Our approach to taxation will ease the burden on the people, reducing unnecessary taxes while encouraging formal sector growth, creating more jobs, and fueling the economy with homegrown revenue.

“We will no longer be subject to the constraints of foreign debt and policies that keep our people in poverty. This new economic order is about building wealth that is shared, industries that are owned by Ghanaians, and policies that serve the people,” she said.

The CPP also intends to provide access to capital for women entrepreneurs, orgranise training programmes, and implement policies that “allow women to lead in all sectors.”
