Weta rice farmers to launch Association Saturday

Aflao (V/R), Oct 18, GNA- Leadership of Weta Rice Farmers Association of Ghana (WRIFAG) will Saturday, launch officially the farmer-based organisation at Klenormadi in the Ketu North Municipality.

The launch will bring together farmers and key personalities from farmer-based organisations, government agencies, religious institutions and the public.

In a communiqué announcing the launch, jointly signed by Mr Michael Agbetsiafa and Mr Sampson Klutsey Gamenyah, President and Patron of WRIFAG respectively, and made available to Ghana News Agency, the association was committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, sustainable rice production, processing, distribution and related agribusiness in the Ketu North Municipality and the surrounding districts in the Volta Region of Ghana.

“Established with the vision of creating a thriving community of rice farmers, we recognise the significance of stakeholders in our shared goals. Through this launching, we aim to provide the public with insights into our mission, objectives, values and the impact we aspire to make on both local and global scales,” it said.

The launch which will be on the theme, “Agriculture Revolution: A Sine Qua Non for Industrial Transformation in Ghana – The Role of WRIFAG,” will feature speeches from personalities, goodwill messages from businesses and as well, an exhibition, poetry recital and, drumming and dancing.
