Aflao (VR), Oct. 31, GNA – The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) in the Ketu South District, has supported three of its members undergoing medical treatment with a sum of GH¢108,000.00.
The beneficiaries, Ms Diana Adzo Abba who received GH¢60,000.00, Ms Melody Mawushi Gobah, GH¢40,000.00, with Ms Leticia Narkie Nartey receiving GH¢8,000.00, are all members working in various healthcare facilities within the Ketu South Municipality and are each facing unique medical challenges.
The amount donated from the GRNMA Health Fund at the National Headquarters was received by the Ketu South Municipal branch of the Association, to assist the members with their medical bills.
Mr Samuel K. Numana, the Ketu South Branch Chairman, led other District Executives to present the funds to the beneficiaries at Agbozume and the Municipal Hospital at Aflao on behalf of the President of the Association, Mrs Perpetual Ofori Ampofo and the Regional Chairman, Mr Courage Kwame-Kumah.
Mr Numana told Ghana News Agency that the disbursement of these funds to the beneficiaries demonstrated the Association’s commitment to the welfare of its members.
“This financial assistance will significantly alleviate the burden of medical expenses and enable them to focus on recovery and well-being”.
He therefore encouraged members to remain under the GRNMA umbrella as the welfare needs of nurses and midwives remained the number one priority of the Association.
The beneficiaries of the health fund thanked the National President, regional and district executives for coming to their aid in that critical moment, through provision of financial assistance and emotional support.
They encouraged all nurses and midwives who were yet to become members of the Association to join, describing the GRNMA as being matchless to others in the country.
“I was worried about my bills, but the GRNA’s support has lifted a huge burden off my shoulder and this act of kindness has given me hope and strength to continue with my recovery,” Ms Abba expressed her gratitude.
Present to witness the presentation were Mr David Yao Agbokpe, the Municipal Director of Health Services, Dr Alphonse Makafui Dzakpasu, the Medical Superintendent of the Ketu South Municipal Hospital, human resource managers, staff of the health directorate and the hospital, relatives and facility executives.
