Dambai (O/R), Oct. 30, GNA – Ms Sophia Essel, a graduate of the Dambai College of Education 2023 batch, has inspired women with her emotional story of resilience and triumph, to enable them to persevere towards achieving their aspirations.

Sharing her emotional story of financial battles during her education, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Ms Essel revealed that she faced difficulties paying tuition fees, buying educational materials and constantly worried about financial stability.

She also revealed that, her days in school were characterised by feeling inadequate and uncertain about her abilities, continual fear of failure and disappointment, struggle to balance academic pressures and personal expectations and questioning her worth and purpose.

She also shared her personal struggles with social pressures, shedding light on the challenges faced by many young women in the educational sector.

Ms Sophia elaborated on societal expectations to prioritise marriage over education, the pressure to conform to traditional gender roles, family obligations, responsibilities and fear of judgement and criticism.

“Education is the gateway to financial freedom, don’t let financial struggles hold you back, believe in yourself and your dreams will become reality,” she stated.

Ms Sophia encouraged women to explore financial aid options, staying focused on their academic goals, prioritise education and personal growth, believing in themselves, as well as overcoming self-doubt and societal expectations to succeed.
