Adidome (V/R), Oct. 15, GNA – Reverend Israel Kwasi Ahalie, the Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC) at Adidome in the Central Tongu district, Volta Region, has emphasised the significance of partnership between the Church and Compassion International Ghana in driving social change.
Rev. Ahalie, who laid the emphasis during a furniture distribution ceremony, said partnership was key in carrying out social action projects.
The partnership yielded 190 dual desks, 11 office tables, and 11 chairs, valued at GHC 72,925, benefiting 10 Basic Schools in Adidome and Awakpedome.
Rev. Ahalie praised Compassion International Ghana’s support, saying, “Their funding enabled us to procure essential furniture, addressing deficits in our schools and creating a conducive environment for teaching and learning”.
He urged beneficiary schools to utilise the furniture responsibly, maintaining them regularly to ensure they served their intended purpose.
He pledged the Church’s commitment to initiatives like building schools and distributing essential resources to support communities in need,” Rev. Ahalie added.
Beneficiary schools included Global Primary, Global JHS, EP Primary, EP JHS, Methodist Primary, Methodist JHS, D/A Primary, D/A JHS, R.C Primary, R.C. JHS, and Awakpedome Primary.
The successful initiative demonstrated the impact of collaborative efforts in enhancing education and community development.
Mr Christian Dziwornu, the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Central Tongu lauded the efforts of the church to promoting quality education in the district.
He appealed for the support of all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the schools were equipped with the necessary apparatus to create a more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
