Accra, Oct. 13, GNA- Decathlon Ghana, the world-renowned leader in sports and outdoor equipment, has opened its newest store at West Hills Mall on October 13, 2024.
This move marks the company’s continued expansion in Ghana, aimed at bringing affordable, high-quality sports products and services to a growing customer base.
During the grand opening event, Geoffrey Fadoul, CEO of Decathlon Ghana, expressed the company’s excitement about this latest development.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in Ghana with the opening of our store at West Hills Mall. Ghana has a rich sports culture and a growing passion for outdoor activities, making it an ideal location for us to grow. Our goal is to make sports and fitness accessible to as many people as possible, and this new store will allow us to reach even more communities,” he said.
The new store offers products for over 70 different sports, from football and cycling to swimming and hiking. This broad selection caters to both professional athletes and beginners, making sports accessible to all.
Mr Fadoul highlighted Decathlon’s commitment to expanding further across Ghana, collaborating with regional partners to indirectly create jobs and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
To celebrate the store’s opening, Mr Ajay Kashyap, Retail Manager of Decathlon Ghana, announced a 20% discount on all purchases for the first two days, along with free backpacks for the first 50 customers.
“This exclusive offer is our way of showing appreciation to the community and helping people start their sports and fitness journeys with top-tier products,” he said.
Additionally, he said that Decathlon Ghana will continue offering special discounts on key dates like Black Friday and New Year.
Mr Kashyap further emphasized Decathlon’s commitment to affordability.
“We believe in providing low-cost products. For instance, you can buy t-shirts at GHS 49, bags at GHS 49, and footballs at GHS 99. We aim to ensure that everyone who visits the store will find something they can afford,” he explained.
Decathlon’s third store in Ghana follows the success of its previous locations at the Junction Mall and Kawukudi, the latter being the largest stand-alone store in Sub-Saharan Africa.
With this new location, Decathlon continues to make strides toward its mission of making sports accessible to all Ghanaians while offering expert customer service and product testing opportunities in-store.
