Akatsi South Municipal Assembly commences Fee Fixing Resolution for 2025

Akatsi (VR), Oct. 18, GNA- The Akatsi South Municipal Assembly has commenced a stakeholders’ engagement workshop on the 2025 fee fixing resolution for implementation in 2025 as part of the Local Governance Act, Act 936 of 2016.

The eight-day encounter would receive stakeholders from the various business set-ups within the Municipality that include, market women, transport unions, financial institutions, artisans, tourism facility operators, lotto operators, pharmaceutical companies, opinion leaders, and others.

Mr Kofitsey Martin Nyahe, the Municipal Chief Executive of Akatsi South, in his remarks during the commencement of the engagement, stated that the exercise underscored the importance, the Assembly attached to the views and opinions of the public in the delivery of its mandate.

He expressed his excitement that their outfit had segmented the interactions to reflect the various trade and business interests in a manner that ensures efficiency and transparency.

“This programme is meant to give an account of what the Assembly has done with the revenues raised from you and to work closely with you in fixing mutually beneficial fees for the 2025 financial year. This is important because the development of the Assembly is dependent on the development of its residents, a major part of which you in the business community represent,” he said.

Madam Philomena Atimu, Chairperson of the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee of the Assembly, explained that the meeting would achieve a common understanding between all the parties involved about their budget and fee-fixing resolution preparation processes.

The entire sessions would also discuss issues that affected both business operations and the Assembly, with each day devoted to tailored discussions on specific areas of concern, where a common ground would be found for businesses to thrive.

Mr Bismark Kuyole, the Municipal Budget Analyst, in an interaction with the Ghana News Agency, expressed optimism that the period would produce the expected results for the financial growth of the Assembly in 2025.

He is expected to take participants through budget expenditures by the assembly and revenues generated by it in the years under review.
