Effia (WR), Sept 09, GNA – The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Takoradi has marked this year’s National Children’s Week with a week-long celebration that displayed the talents and abilities of children in the church.

The event, which ended on Sunday, featured a range of activities, including child evangelism, cooking lessons and music ministrations, among others.

The children also enjoyed a fun-filled excursion to the Kakum National Park, where they toured the facility and experienced nature.

The highlight of the celebration was the Sunday special children’s service, where the kids took over the church’s podium to display their talents.

They sang, danced, performed poetry, scripture recitations and drama, and choreography, leaving the congregation in awe.

They also explained the term ‘unleashed’ in the church’s theme for the year in a poetry recital and told the story of how the Church of Pentecost began to date.

In a sermon, Master Stephen Clark Mensah read from 1 Peter 2:9, Acts 1:8, Titus 2:7 and Hebrews 10:8, among others and spoke on the topic, “Raising Godly Families to Transform the World”

He said godly children were chosen by God, and called on parents to nurture their children in the fear of God.

They should teach biblical principles by reading the Bible with their wards and pray with them to adopt a prayer life.

Master Mensah also admonished parents to set good examples for their children to follow and teach Christian values like compassion and love to their children.

He emphasised the importance of nurturing children in the way of the Lord and said it was the responsibility of parents to train children to become responsible and God-fearing adults

The PIWC Takoradi Children’s Ministry also donated to a children’s home, presenting them with food items, clothes, and other essential supplies

The National Children’s Week celebration was a huge success, with parents and guardians praising the church for investing in the lives of their children.

Pastor Selase Amedeka, Resident Minister of the church was impressed with the way the leaders of the Children’s Ministry organized the event and honored them with gifts

The Children’s Ministry promised to continue investing in children’s lives, with more events planned.
