Kadjebi (O/R), Aug 23, GNA-Ms. Judith Asiedua Annor, an Exhibition Officer at E.P JHS “B” Exhibition Centre in Kadjebi, has urged registered voters to visit the centres to verify and correct errors against their names.
She said their names could be misspelt, ages be either above or below, and wrong residential address, among others.
She said the voters could have these errors detected and corrected in person at the exhibition centres.
Ms Annor made the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to the exhibition centre.
She said checking and correcting the necessary errors in the register would enable the country to have a reliable and accurate National Voter Register for the December 7 polls.
The centre with 416 registered voters had only 14 voters checking their particulars since the exhibition began on August 20.
GNA visit to Kadjebi Market Offices, Kadjebi D/A “A” Primary School and Kadjebi Cocoa Market Exhibition Centres revealed low patronage of the seven-day national exercise.
While people attributed the low turn to the shortcode *711*51# checking, others attributed it to inadequate sensitisation on the exercise.
The Electoral Commission (EC) per a letter dated 3rd August 2024 announced the exhibition of the Provisional Voter Register from the 20th to the 27th of August 2024 nationwide.
“The Commission encourages the public to participate in the Exhibition Exercise,” it said.
