Saboba (N/R), August 20, GNA – The Saboba District Fire Post in the Northern Region has been upgraded into an operational fire station.

The Fire Post, which was established on May 05, last year, focused on fire safety education for residents.

Until the upgrade, it did not have a fire tender, and the district, along with surrounding areas, had to rely on the Yendi Fire Station for coverage.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Grade one (ACFO1) Mr James Nkrah, North Regional Fire Officer, speaking at the ceremony to mark the station’s upgrade, presented a new fire tender on behalf of the Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

Mr Nkrah said the upgrade was a significant advancement in improving the district’s emergency response capabilities.

He emphasised the essence of maintaining the fire tender and urged authorities to support the fire station in achieving its objectives.

Mr Seidu Abdul Aziz, Saboba District Assembly Coordinator, who received the fire tender on behalf of the District Chief Executive, expressed gratitude towards the development.

He acknowledged the upgraded fire station and said it would enhance fire safety and response in the district.

Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One Mr Yusuf Issahaku, Saboba District Fire Officer, said the fire tender would strengthen personnel’s ability to protect lives and property within the district.

He promised that the new fire tender would be maintained to prolong its life.
