Accra, Nov 24, GNA – Parliamentary Caucuses of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) did not boycott the 2023 budget presentation on Thursday as widely speculated for which the Finance Minister has expressed gratitude.

They all took their seats during the presentation of the 2023 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government in Parliament.

The NPP Majority Caucus changed their earlier stand not to participate in the Budget or following an appeal from the President and the Party’s Leadership.

Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minority Leader, at an earlier press briefing noted that the participation of his side in the Budget presentation would depend on the posture of the Majority Caucus.

Mr Ken Ofori-Atta, the Finance Minister, who is presenting the Budget Statement expressed, gratitude to members of the Minority and Majority Caucuses for their participation.

He also expressed gratitude to the President and the NPP Leadership.

While 96 rebel MPs of NPP has called for the removal of the Minister, the Minority has initiated a process for a motion of censure in Parliament against him.
