GES engages NSA on issues relating to Inter School Sports competitions

Accra, June 30, GNA – A delegation from the Ghana Education Service (GES) have met with the leadership of the National Sports Authority (NSA), led by Professor Peter Twumasi to discuss issues on Inter Schools Sports competitions in the region.

The GES in collaboration with the NSA has for the past few years used the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for its Inter-Schools Competitions, with the two bodies having issues regarding damages at the stadium by some students.

The GES is yet to organise the Inter Schools Milo games for 32 Senior High Schools after a long break since 2020 following the ban on sporting activities due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

The two in the meeting had a fruitful discussion on the way forward in solving the issues and were expected to meet again in the coming days to finally take a decision on the organisation of the competition.

According to the Ghana Education Service, there would be a Boys Soccer Competition and an Inter-School Athletics competition in the coming days of which they were still putting things in place.
