Dome (Near Maame Krobo), Feb. 10, GNA — The people of Dome, a community in the Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region, have appealed to the government to do more to bring development to them.
They say many teachers are refusing to accept posting to the town because of its lack of electricity and good drinking water.
Nana Kwaku Ansong, the chief of the town, making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) also complained about the bad nature of their road and said these were making life miserable for them.
He noted that the economic activities of the people were being hampered because of the poor nature of the road and the absence of electricity.
He said they felt neglected by the government, adding that, things should not continue to remain as they were – there needed to be a change.
“I am inclined to believe that we will be asking too much, when we say, give us our fair share of development.”
Nana Ansong underlined the need to expand the classrooms of the primary and junior senior high school in the community to ease congestion and enhance teaching and learning.
He also called for police presence to help bring down the high rate of crime in the area.
